Busy is good, right???

So, this weekend is all about getting ready for the next gallery showing. This one is at The Main Street Gallery by Mount Washington Valley Arts Association. I currently have one piece down there for a charity event in support of the organization, but will have one for the “Spring is in the Air” show that runs until the end of June, and well as having a wall for those three months as well. As a Resident Artist for MWVAA, that’s a cool thing we get to do, so I’ll have a bunch of stuff down there for the next three months!

So I know, you’re all asking… “How do you prep for this stuff????”. Ok, so maybe not all of you were asking, but a couple people have! And the answer is going to be different each time. Currently I have three pieces in a beautiful gallery here in town, The 3 Sisters Gallery which is an amazing, artists owned gallery that I was lucky enough to be selected with ten others for a show to show my work in. Diedre over there was just amazing and so, soooo talented, and was so easy to work with. I selected my pieces by sending them out to my two kids, and my wife. I gave them all access to the ones I was considering, and then sent a link to the folder that the files were in, and had each one of them delete the ones that they weren’t crazy about. By the time that was done I only had to chose from about five photos!

This time, for the Spring is in the Air show, I did the same things but chose four pieces. But the wall was so much harder. So really, what I did was I just took the stuff I already had in print. A lot of times I’ll look at a shot in port processing and just love it enough that I really want to see it in print. So I actually had a lot of photos all ready to go. I even have a couple metallics and vintage framed items going in the gallery this time!

So once all the work was framed, all I really had to do was do a “Product Tag” for them, and a Certificate of Authenticity for each one. And that’s it! Oh, and the other cool part is that I’ll be brining greeting card prints with me too!
