There are a lot of amazing artists in the area, and I’m always looking through their stuff and often I’m left in awe. There are so many different types of photographers, and some of them make it an artform in their post processing by itself. I’m not huge into this myself, since my photos are a footprint left behind of the adventure I had, and I like to preserve it as I saw it, and then share it from there. So I try and keep my photos as natural as possible to have them represent as accurately as possible what I was looking at when I took the photo.
Another thing that I stay away from is giving a bunch of options with my prints. I stick to what I am equipped to produce. For example, I don’t have the equipment to produce my prints on canvas. So I refuse to leave it in the hands of a third party to represent my art. That’s MY work, after all. I don’t put my work on coffee mugs and t-shirts- that’s just not how I want to represent my work either. But seeing it in a frame, on someone’s wall… that’s my vision. So eventually maybe I’ll be equipped to offer more in the way of formats. For now, I offer different sizes, and different quality substrates, and I’m happy with that. But until I can control the quality of other methods myself, I won’t be offering them. That being said, I will accommodate custom orders if someone reaches out. I’m not completely unreasonable!
